Why this petition matters

Started by Vishnu Patel

Very soon Mumbai will get it’s second international airport. This would be an ideal opportunity to honor the Father of Indian Aviation J. R. D Tata by naming this new airport JRD International Airport. This would be the best tribute to one of our greatest Industrial leader.

On 10 February 1929, Tata obtained the first license issued in India. He later came to be known as the "Father of Indian civil aviation". He founded India's first commercial airline, Tata Airlines in 1932, which became Air India in 1946, now India's national airline.

Let us all join in to create awareness to achieve this and honor JRD Tata by appropriately naming the new airport, with his name.

Also, in our informal discussion a very good thought came out regarding honoring great contributors and create a National List from the Padma Awards, Bharat Ratna, Sports Awards, Service Awards, etc. Off course include great contributors  who are from all walks of life.
