Reduce RoK charity cycle entrance fee

The Ring of Kerry charity cycle is Irelands largest single stage one day event. It has a capacity to cater for approx 11,000 cyclists.

It takes place in Killarney, Co.kerry on the 1st weekend of July annually and transverses 170kms of some of the most scenic towns and villages of the N70/Iveragh peninsula.

It is a commercially sponsored event with 2 main foodstops run by volunteers. The event is in its 35th year.

The entry cost for 2018 is €100 + a credit card fee and additional charge for a Jersey. This year the entry fee is not an affordable option for many that have supported this event. The number of participants in 2017 were below previous years and as a result of cost increases the event no longer achieves capacity due to the excessive entry free.

It is the purpose of this petition to allow the entry fee to be made more affordable to all persons wishing to support this worthwhile event.
