Connery McQueen started this petition to The world's platform for change Change.org and

Change.org asks petitioners to “become a hero” by donating money after signing. They are not explicitly clear, however, when it comes to where that money is going. While this is technically not regarded as entirely unethical, a social justice platform like this should hold itself to a higher standard. While I’m sure many people understand that their money goes to “keeping the lights on” for Change.com, many people would be disappointed to find that their donations are not even *partially* being sent to the causes in connection with each petition. For example, the petition for Justice for George Floyd was the most-signed US petition in the site’s history. Many people donated money, only to find out too late that their money was only going to Change.com. Not to George Floyd’s family or any connected organizations. Change.org needs to, at minimum, *explicitly* state *exactly* where any and all donations are headed. They should also donate a percentage of their profits to BLM or similar groups. Lose the misleading language like “be a hero” and “get the petition on the agenda”.
