Let’s bring Sam into Dead by Daylight!

Let’s bring Sam into Dead by Daylight!
Why this petition matters

Dead by Daylight as we know by now is the king of asymmetrical survivor horror games. But it also has gained quite the reputation of being the Super Smash Brothers of horror. Meaning that behavior the Quebec based developers of the game love to add as many horror icons, killers and survivors, from massive popular movie and video game properties as they can. The dlc adds a lot to the base game. I am grateful as an avid player to have all the characters that we have so far in one place to enter a survivor vs killer battle royal unique only to to this game.
However in this fun petition I humbly come to you today to propose to help elevate a niche horror license that would benefit greatly from us making it loud and clear Sam from the Trick R Treat movie license. The killer trick or treater himself be brought into dead by daylight as a wholly unique killer that stands out greatly from amongst the colorful cast. There are many many large licenses that the dead by daylight community has requested behavior to being into the game. But one slips under discussion for many players and horror enthusiasts, Trick R Treat. It slips under discussion in my observation because while hardcore horror enthusiasts have seen the 2007 connected anthology film by director Michael Dougherty, that oozes with the trappings of the holiday, many players would rather see another big license come in before their beloved Sam. This petition is to elevate the voices who want to see Sam more than anything before a huge license like Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees for example To show that Trick R Treat should be seriously discussed among the other huge licenses being widely pushed by the fan base.
To those who ask why should Sam & the Trick R Treat license be included among the horror hall of fame in Dead by Daylight, I would ask you do you love horror? If you said yes then you should know there is only one holiday where widely accepted horror fans and the general public can share in the morbid curiosities of the unknown, the unexplained, and the unnerving… Halloween. While one could argue that we wouldn’t need another killer representing the holiday due to the addition of Michael Meyers, I would like to address that. Halloween despite being huge for the gothic side of life still lives in the shadow of its over commercialized big brother Christmas. Even with a Nightmare before Christmas and Trick R Treat graced the last decade (2000’s to 2010’s) it will never topple the disgusting commercial cheer and joy of the sanitized Saturnalia. Like the little brother Halloween is both these films became widely popular after release after being delightful cult classics.
This is why it should be represented, Trick R Treat is both a horror film and a holiday film perfectly complimenting its mist mash Frankenstein holiday it pays tribute to. While Halloween is a popular slasher, meyers is not exclusive or specifically designed to represent the holiday unlike his horror slasher counterpart Sam. For those unfamiliar with the 2007 film, I will give a brief description of the character to avoid spoilers. If you live the holiday and love horror, it is a must watch. Sam is the love child of film director Michael Dougherty. Before Trick R Treat Mike attempted to create his version of a mascot of the holiday hoping to rival Santa clause. Creating a short film and a peanuts style animated short in the process. Sam is a force of nature, an old demon who set to protect the original traditions of Samhain. Named after the old Celtic holiday name Samhain it disguises itself as a child wearing orange foodie pajamas, and a custom made primitive burlap sack style Halloween mask with two button eyes and a stitched smile. It also carries an old burlap knapsack to carry the candy he receives along with more sinister items. He kills people who disrespect the holiday with smashing or blowing out pumpkins, taking decorations down or not having them up at all, not giving out candy to trick or treaters, and not wearing costumes. His main weapon of choice is an old fashioned sugar glass pumpkin lollipop he takes a bite out of to make super sharp so he can slash the heretics necks. He also Carrie’s a chocolate Carmel bar that he also bites into to reveal a steel blade. making a makeshift candy bar box cutter. His last method of attack is to reveal his is not a child but a monster in the shape of a pumpkin who can climb walls and bite with his razor sharp teeth.
We should have a Halloween mascot in the game because it is the finale culmination holiday of the year for horror lovers and those who celebrate holidays in the unconventional sense. What better represents the holiday than a character who has many holiday references and a film that doesn’t deviate once from the holiday going all in on the Halloween love and isn’t told conventual in its storytelling. If this petition reaches its goal of 3,100 signatures I will make cgi conceptual trailer . When we reach 20,000 I will send out a massive tweet tagging Mathieu cot’e, Behavior interactive, and Michael Dougherty to demonstrate the fans intense love and interest in seeing Sam come into the game. I will also reveal a professionally made CGI trailer that conceptualizes how Sam would enter the fog to also generate hype . This would be posted to my YouTube channel J - Rex Entertainment. The animated trailer project will cost 6,000 dollars which I don’t currently have. Link below for the associated kickstarter if you’d like to donate for exclusive rewards.
Thank you for those who support this humble cause to bring this iconic Halloween mascot into the video game horror hall of fame! God bless, see you in the fog and… make sure not to forget to check your candy
