Why this petition matters

Started by Melissa Checkley

Pre-Covid, parents were welcome to walk their children to their classrooms in the morning and encouraged to attend classroom parties. Parents always left before the start of the day and kids enjoyed that extra time with their children. Now the school will not allow us into the building. Mr. Clark states that this has nothing to do with Covid and that safety is a top priority; however, when there is a respect assembly, parents are allowed to enter without signing in. Mr. Clark has also said that he will go by whatever the school board tells him to do. The school board has made no stance on this topic. I believe we should be allowed to be a part of our children’s education and that we should be welcomed back into the buildings. By signing this petition, we can let the principals, the superintendent, and the school board know that we would like to come back inside.
