There is no good reason for this school to become an academy. Parents’ and teachers’ views should be paramount

Too much money being leeched out of schools by academy trusts.
Too many unqualified teachers employed in academies to compensate for high CEO and senior staff salaries.
Too much instability with academy schools being handed from one trust to another (particularly after being stripped of anything worth selling).
Schools improve 6 times faster when they remain as community schools than if they become academies.
The whole rationale for academies has been shown to be false and damaging education.

The community wanted a community school in the first place and worked hard to get it.

This is shamefully immoral and barefaced exploitative treatment of our education system purely to line the pockets of fat cats with money which should be in schools already financially stretched way beyond their limits. Breathtakingly immoral!

My child attended PCS until recently. Since Swale Academy has been involved the schools standards have dropped. This year's Year 11 Gcse preparation was appalling, syllabus in most subjects not completed, Revision sessions disorganised, temporary staff who had no idea what they were doing & permanent staff trying to do their best with mo support. Head Teacher didn't even bother to wish them luck in their exams, say good bye or attend Prom. A disgraceful state of affairs & a total disregard for pupil exam success which will effect their futures forever.

I believe if PCS is to become a academy, the work that has been put in to support the students will have a huge impact on their education and those that have worked so hard with them, will leave!

If teachers are prepared to strike for 7 days it must be the wrong decision for them, the school and my children. IEBs are not accountable nor , in my experience, are they interested in community , individuals children or breadth of curriculum

Academies don’t care about children, staff, parents and communities.
