Approximately 3.5 million Nepali (14% of the total population) are working abroad contributing to 30% of Nepal's GDP in the form of remittance money while the country is going through a series of major election campaigns. There are no provisions for its citizens working abroad to cast their vote and have their opinion heard if they're intentionally left aside in the election processes. In the least developed country like Nepal with a relatively new and volatile democracy, there're two immediate consequences of boycotting a large fraction of citizens in the election:

1. Continuation of rising inept, corrupt, uneducated local representatives.

2. Continuation of overspending hard-earned remittance money in the corrupted election without producing promising change-makers.

We believe a wise and honest vote would be cast by Nepali living abroad who are closely monitoring past elected representatives and have realized how they have been scammed. 

To the world, it must be known that a democracy where its citizens are intentionally left out in the electoral process is no democracy, and therefore, no foreign aid should be provided in the name of development only to fund corrupted elections.

देश ठूलो चुनावी अभियानको शृङ्खलाबाट गुज्रिरहेको बेला नेपालको कुल गार्हस्थ उत्पादनको ३०% रेमिटेन्सको रूपमा योगदान गरिरहेका लगभग ३५ लाख नेपाली (कुल जनसङ्ख्याको १४%) नेपालीहरु विदेशमा काम गरिरहेका छन् ।

जानाजानी चुनावी प्रक्रियामा छोडिएका विदेशमा काम गर्ने नेपाली नागरिकहरुले न त आफ्नो मताधिकार प्रयोग गर्न न त कुनै राय सुनाउन पाएका छन्। यस प्रकार  नयाँ, अस्थिर लोकतन्त्र भएको कम विकसित देशमा, नागरिकहरूको ठूलो अंश चुनावी प्रक्रियामा बहिष्कार हुँदा दुईवटा तत्काल नतिजाहरू रहन्छन्:

1. बढ्दो अयोग्य, भ्रष्ट, अशिक्षित स्थानीय प्रतिनिधिहरूको निरन्तरता।

2. प्रतिज्ञाकारी परिवर्तनकर्ताहरूको आगमन नहुने भ्रष्ट चुनावमा कडा मेहनतबाट कमाएको रेमिटेन्स पैसाको  खर्चको  निरन्तरता बढिरहने।

विगतका निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधिहरूलाई नजिकबाट नियालिरहेका र आफूहरु कसरी ठगिएका छन् भन्ने बुझेका विदेशमा बस्ने नेपालीहरूले   बुद्धिमानी र इमान्दार भोट हाल्नेछन् भन्ने हाम्रो विश्वास छ।

जनतालाई जानाजानी निर्वाचन प्रक्रियाबाट वञ्चित गर्ने लोकतन्त्र भनेको लोकतन्त्र होइन, त्यसैले विकासको नाममा भ्रष्ट चुनावमा लगानी गर्न मात्रै विदेशी सहायता दिनुहुँदैन भन्ने कुरा विश्वलाई थाहा हुनुपर्छ ।

अर्को चुनावको मितिमा परिवर्तन गर्न कृपया यो याचिकामा  कृपया हस्ताक्षर गर्नुहोला धन्यवाद।
