Hi guys! My name is Mishael Sommers and I am a student at KYHS. I love sandals, especially my Chacos, they are a part of me and I consider them part of my Israeli identity. When I wear my Chacos I feel free to express myself and be my true self. I believe in free expression from all people and see this limitation of my expression as a violation of the egalitarian principles that this great nation was founded upon. KYHS outlawed the usage of sandals after I previously came to school with my Chacos after they were still considered legal due to their ankle support strap in the back of the sandal. I keep good care of my toes and hold them to a high hygienic standard which will remove the worry of being disgusted from my toes. I call upon you all to join my struggle to unshackle my chains of sandal bondage and let equality exist among our fellow toes. Mrs. Chait promised that if I reach 200 signatures I will be allowed to wear my sweet Chacos to school.
