This idea of femininity is outdated for many reasons: 

1. it’s impractical - girls should have the right to run, jump, explore without having to worry about their modesty. 
2. up skirting- many girls feel uncomfortable when wearing skirts. Sometimes around males as we are worried about any pictures being taken 

3. weather - we have all had those days where it is windy and it has caught our skirt. Let’s face it, it’s embarrassing. We should we have to go through this?! We have the right to wear what we want 

4- in workplaces like the NHS, police force and many others skirts are not practical so let’s prepare our students for the future. 
 
5- many girls many not feel comfortable with wearing a skirt: it might not feel right and might make them feel like they have to be something they are not. In the 21st century we should recognise this!
