Two key characters from final year have been given a bar ban on their last Wednesday night, meaning they are not allowed to their last Summer Ball as students. A bar ban was rightly so to have been administered, in order for the boys to learn from their drunken errors But as fellow students we felt that the bar ban administered should be reviewed, as felt it is unfair for them to be banned from their final event as students. They are both good-hearted students who have done a lot in bringing the final year community together, from lion captain and key participant in the harper to Melrose bike ride as two examples. We have seen the boys emotions and worry the last few weeks in regard to missing summer ball, and we all empathise with them. The summer ball is a key last memory, and a final send off and final time to see many of the fellow students. We feel they therefore have already learnt from their mistakes, with the fear of losing their summer ball, and don’t deserve to actually not be allowed to go. I do not think it would be seen as being “let off the hook”.

Jack Daley (AKA Sully) is a key exec member in the rugby club, BNOC, Agric, official Crocs Rep and top class comedian around campus.
