Megan Metcalfe was sacked for being kind to her elderly customers in Birds Bakery, after 40 plus years of service... We the people of Nottingham think that decision is absolutely disgusting... No matter the Companies Covid-19 rules on payment processing, the decision to treat a loyal employee this way for a lifetime's service is beyond belief and should of been handled more appropriately via a simple disciplinary meeting or just pulled to one side and explained why her actions are not appropriate... but to be sacked... that's not the actions of a reputable employer and well known brand like Birds...
It was my nan who introduced me to Birds the Bakery back in the 80's so the brand has a long standing relationship with our senior residents in communities so I felt outraged at this action, and spurred me on to create this petition... and many do not or are unable to embrace new technology... we feel rather than Birds sacking employees for doing a kind action and keeping customers happy, you should invest in ways to overcome this issue ...
