Given the recent spikes in COVID-19 cases in Catawba County and the need for field hospitals to be built due to overflowing hospitals, LR should switch to fully online courses for the 2021 spring semester. The number of infected people will only rise in the days to come resulting from the recent holidays and the traveling associated with them.

Having students move on campus only for us to close down two weeks later due to mass case spread will only harm students, staff and faculty, and their families. Going back on campus further runs the risk of people not only on campus but in the community getting COVID. This will then only harm the healthcare system more as they are already in crisis.

LR should be online all semester to not only end stress for students having to move in and out of dorms but to help slow the spread of COVID. For everyone's health and safety, any on-campus classes should not take place this coming semester.

We already left campus due to a spike in cases and now it is worse than before in the community. Having us go back when it is worse is not the right thing to do.
