Canada’s organ donation rate is among the lowest in the industrialized world.
More than 4,500 Canadians are waiting for a life-saving transplant.
Organ donation from one person can save the lives of up to eight people. A single tissue donor can improve the lives of up to 75 people.
90% of Canadians support organ donation, but only
25% are registered to donate.
Bill C-316 would allow Canadians to register as organ and tissue donors through their annual tax return.
It’s as simple as that!
The information would then be passed to provincial and territorial governments where the taxpayer lives so that it can be added to provincial or territorial registries.
The information would be updated each time a tax return is filed.
We must make registering easier for organ and tissue donors if we are going to save more lives.
Add your name to the list of thousands of Canadians who support this sensible idea to improve Canada's organ and tissue donation system.
