保留石澳海灘燒烤繼續經營 Help the Shek O BBQs continue their operations
0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!
In light of the recent judgement made by the LCSD to cease operations, we hope members of the public will show support in helping Shek O retain its environment.
The Shek O BBQ pits have been managed by four indigenous members of the community for generations. **Since the 1930s, throughout the rule of the British Government, World War 2 occupation and to this day as an SAR, the area has been maintained by these villagers to provide a clean and comfortable environment for tourists.** There have never been any environmental or safety (with regards to fire services) issues from these operations nor any complaints forged by residents or tourists.
A large draw for not only HK residents, but visitors from around the world, are barbecues as they have been a draw to the beach for decades. **The LCSD do not have any future plans for the areas concerned**. The current number of public barbecue pits supplied rests at only 30. The area lacks cleanliness but regardless - there are simply not enough public facilities to accommodate the public need. Without these barbecue services, will Shek O still be the Shek O that provides so many visitors a pleasant experience?
We hope to be legally leased this land to continued these operations **and have the licenses to do so**. We ask that you sign this petition to help show public support to the departments involved in maintaining Shek O’s appeal.
