Reducing the dangerous traffic speeds in North Kilworth

Reducing the dangerous traffic speeds in North Kilworth
Why this petition matters
We live in a lovely village, with great amenities including a sports club, a school, a petrol station and shop, and a pub. The village has beautiful surrounding countryside, and good walking, running and cycling routes.
It has a busy road running through the village the from the Lutterworth-Market Harborough road to South Kilworth (and access to the M1 and M6). Consequently, the village is subjected to a high volume of commuter traffic, generally from outside North Kilworth, who are therefore unaware or unconcerned about their high speeds. There are traffic calming measures in Swinford and in South Kilworth, so clearly this is a known problem.
Due to recent building, the edge of the village has now extended south towards South Kilworth such that the 30mph sign is in the wrong place, and needs to be moved, together with traffic calming to ensure this is enforced on the approach to Dag Lane and the school (where it should perhaps be 20mph). Additionally a crossing from the sports club to the school at this point is required. There are 25 new family houses, and this should have been acted upon prior to approving these homes.
We also propose a crossing to be situated at the pub / petrol station across the Luttwerworth - Market Harborough road, as many parents have also highlighted the dangers of crossing this road, especially for children catching the school buses.
It is time to push for this to happen now, as it is critically dangerous for children, animals and adults.
