We, the undersigned, wish to prevent the massage parlour opening for the following reasons:

1. This is a residential area, home to a very large number of families. Many children and teenagers pass 233 Hinckley on the way to town, parks, shops, and local schools including Dovelands Primary School, Christ the King Infant and Junior schools, New College and Fullhurst schools. Buses leave from Hinckley Road for Sir Jonathan North and Lancaster Boys Schools, Bosworth Academy and Groby Community College among others, as well as into town.

2. The Hinckley Road shopping parade was subject to the deliberately caused explosion in 2018 which tragically killed 5 people including 3 teenagers. The massage parlour will be located directly opposite the memorial site.

3. The massage parlour will be located next door to the post office used on daily basis by residents of all ages; it is the only post office within walking distance for residents across Western Park and Westcotes areas.

4. A massage parlour is likely to attract customers from outside our neighbourhood, with potential behaviours such as drinking and loitering. There will be an effect on local parking. Customers for the massage parlour will park in surrounding streets used by families, children and young people.

5. The shopping parade has already lost a number of shops and a massage parlour is likely to make it more of a “no go” area, putting off potential investors and entrepreneurs as well as families. 6. Many residents are very concerned that the planning consultation was inadequate and/or rushed; that that there was a lack of notices clearly displayed about the plans within the shopping area so that people could lodge objections earlier in the process. Many residents have been entirely unaware of the planned massage parlour.
