On multiple occasions my friends and family members have been pulled over by police officers only to be ticketed, go to court and pay a fine of up to $1000 or a year of imprisonment for their windshield being tinted (20%) and the other windows being tinted in a range between 5% - 15%, not speeding, not failing to maintain lanes...just window tint. Statistically there is little to no data adding validity to these window tinting percentages being the direct cause of vehicular accidents or fatalities of civilians/officers, statistics will go on to demonstrate that the state of Georgia issues more citations for window tint violations than there has ever been for vehicular fatalities or accidents directly related to window tint.  Anyone who has had the pleasure of having these tint percentages installed on their vehicle (including police officers) can assert that there are indeed benefits to having window tint; being able to drastically reduce the temperature inside your vehicle making it more comfortable for pets, children and seniors gives the owner of the vehicle the power to diminish the need to use the A/C as the sole source of keeping cool and it has to be said that it just makes any car look 100X better. Please sign this petition supporting the legalization of full windshield tint (20% only) and the surrounding windows tint (32%-5%).
