ΟΧΙ ΚΥΝΟΚΟΜΕΙΟ ΣΤΗ ΛΕΥΚΑΔΑ - ΒΟΗΘΗΣΤΕ ΜΑΣ ΝΑ ΕΜΠΟΔΙΣΟΥΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΚΑΤΑΣΚΕΥΗ ΕΝΟΣ ΑΚΟΜΑ ΚΟΛΑΣΤΗΡΙΟΥ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΥΠΟΓΡΑΦΗ ΣΑΣ.

Σε όλη την Ελλάδα τα δημοτικά κυνοκομεία κλείνουν το ένα μετά το άλλο, οι συνθήκες απαράδεκτες, σοκάρουν και τον πιο αδιάφορο. Το Δημοτικό Συμβούλιο του Δήμου Λευκάδας δίχως διαβούλευση με τις φιλοζωικές και τους πολίτες, ενέκρινε μια τέτοια κατασκευή με κύριο μέλημα και επιχείρημα πως θα χαθεί το ποσό των 300.000 ευρώ, που όμως επιδοτεί μόνο τις κτιριακές εγκαταστάσεις.

Στην Ελλάδα τα καταφύγια το μόνο που συνεισέφεραν ήταν η αντικοινωνική – εγκληματική συμπεριφορά της εύκολης εγκατάλειψης ανεπιθύμητων ζώων. Ο μόνιμος εγκλεισμός κι η ασυλοποίηση αποτελούν ποινικά αδικήματα.

Τα αδέσποτα σκυλιά που υπάρχουν στην Λευκάδα, είναι σχεδόν όλα τσιπαρισμένα, εμβολιασμένα, στειρωμένα και φροντισμένα. Ο πληθυσμός σήμερα είναι ελεγχόμενος χάρη στα δύο φιλοζωικά σωματεία και τους πολλούς ενεργούς εθελοντές. Η δημιουργία δημοτικού κυνοκομείου θα δημιουργήσει πρόβλημα, ανοίγοντας τις ορέξεις των ασυνείδητων και των γύρω περιοχών που θα  εγκαταλείπουν ανεπιθύμητα ζώα στο νησί μας ανεξέλεγκτα. Μια φυλακή ζώων δεν αρμόζει σε μια σύγχρονη κοινωνία και θα αποτελέσει ντροπιαστική κληρονομιά για την κοινωνία της Λευκάδας.

Προς τον Δήμαρχο Λευκάδας κ. Χαράλαμπο Καλό και το Δημοτικό Συμβούλιο:

Σας καλούμε να συμμεριστείτε τα πραγματικά δεδομένα και να μην προχωρήσετε στην υλοποίηση ενός τέτοιου σχεδίου που είναι βέβαιο πως θα βλάψει σοβαρά την εικόνα και φήμη του νησιού μας και κατ' επέκταση την οικονομία του. Ενισχύστε και προχωρήστε στην μετεγκατάσταση και αναβάθμιση του Δημοτικού Κτηνιατρείου μας ώστε να παρέχουμε χαμηλού ή μηδενικού κόστους υπηρεσίες σε OΛΑ τα αδέσποτα της Λευκάδας.

PROTECT OUR STRAY DOGS

PREVENT THE CONSTRUCTION OF YET ANOTHER DOG-HELL

BY SIGNING THIS PETITION

While all over Greece public animal shelters are being closed down because the conditions are unacceptable and the sight of the animals trapped in such facilities leaves animal protectors shocked and speechless, the administration of Lefkada is planning to create exactly such a cage-enclosure. For the construction of this cage facility, the administration is entitled to funding of 300.000euros. The deadline to obtain permission for this project runs out soon.

PLEASE HELP US PREVENT THIS PROJECT WITH YOUR SIGNATURE

In Lefkada exists a number of stray dogs which are all microchipped, neutered, vaccined and well fed, thanks to the various active animal protection societies. Nevertheless, the Mayor, during the election campaign, has promised to “solve the problem”.

The Mayor has had meetings with all animal protection societies on the island, who, due to their extensive experience in dealing with strays, suggested humane and feasible ways to create a facility along with the necessary measures to safeguard the wellbeing of the dogs and prevent future increase in strays. The Mayor has not met their expectations and is now planning to create a cage-facility.

On a remote for the public inaccessible plot, the dogs are to be kept in cages, traumatising them to the point where they are unadoptable in the future, under the care of people alien to animal welfare. The suffering of these animals will be unworthy of a modern society and a shameful testimony against the community of Lefkada. The place is going to become a dumping ground for abandoned dogs from all over the island and the neighboring areas.

To the Mayor of Lefkas, Mr Charalambos Kalos and the municipal council:

We urge you not to turn this project into reality as it would seriously harm the image of our community, our reputation and therefore the economy of the island. We suggest that the municipal vet clinic is relocated and updated so that it can offer its services to ALL the strays of the island.

VERHINDERT DEN BAU EINER WEITEREN HUNDEHÖLLE JETZT DURCH EURE UNTERSCHRIFT!

KEIN KÄFIGLAGER IN LEFKADA!

Während in Griechenland vielerorts die staatlichen Tierlager geschlossen werden, weil die Verhältnisse dort so grausam sind, dass einem der Anblick der gefangenen Tiere schier den Atem verschlägt, soll auf der Insel Lefkada nun ein solches Käfiglager neu erbaut werden!

Denn dafür können die Gemeinden 400.000 Euro Subventionen einstreichen.Bitte helft mit eurer Unterschrift dies zu verhindern. Wir müssen das bis zum 28. Februar schaffen, dann läuft die Antragsfrist für die Fördergelder aus Athen ab.

Hintergründe

Kastriert, geimpft und gut gepflegt sind alle alteingesessenen Streuner auf der Insel Lefkas, denn es gibt sehr aktive Tierschützer auf der Insel. Trotzdem gibt es genug Leute, die der Anblick stört. Einige Tierschützer hatten auf den Bau eines guten Tierheimes gehofft, sowie die nötigen begleitenden Maßnahmen, um das Entstehen neuer Streuner zu verhindern. Dem Bürgermeister wurden hierzu entsprechende Vorschläge gemacht, die das Wohlergehen der Tiere sichern sollen. Der Bürgermeister hat aber keinerlei Zusagen in Richtung Tierwohl gemacht! Er will stattdessen nun dutzende von Käfigen auf ein abgelegenes Grundstück in den Bergen stellen. Es soll dort Kameras und automatische Futtertröge geben. Dorthin sollen die eingefangenen Streuner weit ab von jeder Kontrolle durch Tierschützer abgeschoben werden. Zu welchen Zuständen ein durch Tierschutzfremde Personen geleitetes Lager führt, sehen wir allerorts in Griechenland. Es produziert unendliches Leid für die gefangenen Hunde. Es ist eine Schande für die Gemeinden.

Wir bitten Sie die Entscheidung zum Bau eines Gefängnisses für Hunde nicht in die Tat umzusetzen! Es schadet nicht nur den Tieren, sondern auch dem Ansehen unserer Insel, dem Tourismus und damit unserer Wirtschaft.
