Making our children's safety a priority by putting a stop to speeders

My daughter has been going to Little Works In Progress Pediatric Therapy for little over a month now. She attends two days a week. Each and every day I am there, I notice how fast people drive. They do not slow down while they approach the intersection. They have stop signs going across the intersection, but not where it matters most, going up and down N 3RD street. Today November 10,2016 my daughter an I almost got hit while leaving Little Works. I always look both ways TWICE before actually crossing. This car that almost hit us was a decent distance away and I felt it was ok to start crossing. I'm not sure if she sped up or was just going too fast but she had to slam on her breaks just in time she got to us then sped back up. Not only is it wrong, but so many accidents could be happening on such a small street. With stop signs, it will give everyone a sigh of relief knowing they will be able to cross the street without having to worry about getting hit. And for the drivers to be going at a slow enough speed for everyone's safety. Everyone should be proceeding with caution. It's not just our safety in jeporady, it's our children's and innocent pedestrians as well. Please help me get as many signatures as possible to stop watching this happen and finally put a stop to speeders.
