Support Uthhan, Support Underprivileged Indian Artisan Families

This petition had 34 supporters

We are  doing this campaign to get some support from Government for a social cause called UTHHAN-Empowering artisans, which we have started to empower the underprivileged artisans across India. This is the first initiative in India where the profit from sales directly go to the producer with out any middlemen. You can log on to for more info.

Even though Artisans are the third largest community in India, they are going through a dark phase since they are arm twisted by middlemen in spite of a huge demand for artisan products in the global markets. We have started this initiative on 2012 and along with the help of many volunteers, NGOs and organisations currently around 2000 families are enrolled and around 50 families are getting profit from the platform. UTHHAN is giving training to artisans to upload the product and using the digital platform along with new designs of handicraft products as per the modern age demand.

We sincerely request you to help us promote this social cause through your support and solidarity. Your help towards this cause will enable us to feed artisan families who are underprivileged and financially exploited by middlemen. Government recognition will help us reach maximum artisan families who are struggling for their daily bread. The younger generation of artisans will take up their tradition and working methodologies because of this.  UTHHAN will create self sustainable communities with job respect and financial stability. We are trying our level best to keep up the effort for changing the present condition of artisan community across India.
