Why this petition matters

Started by Dawn Seary

Leeds City Council are proposing to close the West Leeds Visitors attraction in Pudsey Park, saving the council £90,000 a year.

It is clear that those proposing this have never visited Pudsey and do not understand what our residents need and want. The Labour Council wants to spend £300,000 to demolish the existing animal section and replace with a modular cafe, demolish the glass house, and move the play park from its current site to where the glass house sits now, reducing the play park by 2/3.

In Pudsey we recognise that Public Toilets are the number 1 priority and they need to be near the centre of the town for shoppers, residents, stall holders in the market and bus and taxi drivers!

The consultation should start on Monday 16 November - we will be sharing our views and comments and ask residents to take part via social media, we need to make sure our voices are heard. This petition will go some way to showing Leeds City Council what Pudsey residents think of their plans. Please sign the petition to show your objection to these plans AND make your views known through the public consultation too.

Thank you for signing this petition - Dawn Seary
