Recently we've been told that we are no longer allowed to use our agency issued firearms for details, or perimeter checks etc. We would feel much more comfortable using our agency issued firearms, that we have built trust in, shot hundreds of rounds through, and know work, rather than signing a firearm out from the armory, not knowing if it will even fire. Going on details will be much more difficult, rather than being called before shift, and being told that you're going on a hospital detail, you now need to go to the facility, and sign out your firearm, and then go to your job, using up more time. Then when we get relieved from duty, we would have to go back to the facility and sign our firearms back in, resulting in overtime.  By signing this petition you're agreeing that the policy should revert back to what was normal, easier, less stressful, and less time consuming.
