Maria Diamond started this petition to Lee county School Board

On March 10, 2020, the Lee County School Board will be deciding if they should change their schools’ schedules. Their decision is between keeping a block schedule of eight periods, or switching to a schedule of seven classes every single day, and an extra thirty minutes added to the school day.

I know. Their possibly new schedule makes almost zero sense. With the way it is now, students have two days to complete school work, leaving them more time to spend with their families and participating in outside-school activities. Additionally, teachers have more time during class to ensure each and every student is understanding the material being learned. They also have more time for labs, and other projects. With the proposed school schedule, students will have thirty minutes less time to complete seven classes worth of homework. Teachers will have less time per class to complete lessons, as well as projects.
With your help, we can show the school board officials of Lee County, Florida that students don’t deserve stressful, sleepless nights trying so desperately to complete their last 20 pages of homework. Thank you.
