A group of people who are ignorant to historical facts are demanding the Confederate Monument at Lee County Courthouse in South Carolina that was placed there many years ago to honor the Confederate dead be removed.

This group claims the monument should be removed because the schools are 97% black and the population is also majority black.  They also are discontented that the monument is dedicated to men and women of all races who served in the Confederacy to protect their homes, families, and the South.

Take a stand, Lee County.  Be a leader in our nation; not a follower.  Educate your citizens that there were many causes of the war and that slavery was not "THE" cause thst started the war.

This monument was in place when black families chose to move into Lee County so leave it there and teach your children to love instead of harbor so much hate for the past.  Not everyone in the South owned slaves!  Not everyone in the South wanted slavery!  Find your own Confederate soldier and, if if makes you feel better, build a monument to him but stop trying to "hide" history!  Leave the monuments alone!
