A lot of schools allow their students to leave school during their lunch period. Students at Avon Lake have a set 20 minutes to eat their food which is not a lot. The whole period is 40 minutes but it is spilt into a study hall. Many of us would rather have time to go out and get food we enjoy more and talk to our friends for a longer time! A way to make this work could be to  require students to have a lunch pass, similar to a parking pass or junior/senior early release pass. This would give the students something to look forward to in the middle of the day with all the stress of school. If a student leaves and is not back on time, they would be considered tardy or absent but, if they are responsible and make it back on time they have no consequence!
