With petitions going around for the sealing of Coriyule rd Curlewis it's time for the people who love the rurality of the area to have their say.

For too long we have sat back and let developers come in and change what makes the Bellarine peninsula a destination that maintains a rural feel yet is only a stone's throw away from the big city (Geelong).

With beautiful wildlife and an abundance of flora, we are lucky to enjoy such a peaceful and area diverse in its beauty.

The sealing of Coriyule rd is not needed, with the residents along that road being farms it was never intended to be the main thoroughfare for Curlewis residents. This is what Tivoli rd was built for. The costly burden will be put back on ratepayers and landowners on the road and isn't viable for the small number of residents who use it this way. With other options like Jetty rd and Tivoli linking to Portarlington rd, anyone with safety concerns driving on gravel should be using these options. 

The sealing of back rural roads for a small amount of traffic also encourages a higher amount of use and puts our local fauna in danger of being hit and will encourage hoon behavior.
