All SEAFARERS , ship owners canal Authority all need to rethink THE LAW and RATIFY this responsibility of safe navigation to the PILOT/Canal Authority. An additional insurance fee (premium) may be included in the pilotage charges to cover salvage RISK. WE SEAFARERS need the ARCHAIC LAW NEEDS to be changed to rationalise the responsibility of master SAFETY OF SHIP (in canals). The thousand of sea farers need to think afresh " IS this JUST in their responsibility.
I for one generally wondered of the "Influence and POWER" of a pilot with NO responsibility". Most aircraft pilots tasks go with equal responsibility.
