A container ship called the 'Ever Given' was freed from the Suez Canal on March 29, 2021, a week after it ran aground and blocked.

This poses a new risk in navigation large vessels in canals. The law states the " responsibility of safe navigation is on the shoulders of the master of the vessel". The SIZE  of vessels adds a new dimension to "RISK". The law is archic about the "Safety of the ship solely on Master of vessel". The united nations :Laws of sea conference allows coastal states to makev laws in terrotorial waters. Presently, some places the responsilility shifts to thr PILOT

All SEAFARERS , ship owners  canal Authority all need to rethink THE LAW and RATIFY this responsibility of safe navigation to the PILOT/Canal Authority. An additional insurance fee (premium) may be included in the pilotage charges to cover salvage RISK. WE SEAFARERS need the   ARCHAIC LAW NEEDS  to be changed to rationalise the responsibility of master SAFETY OF SHIP (in canals). The thousand of sea farers need to think afresh " IS this JUST in their responsibility.

I for one generally wondered of the "Influence and POWER" of a pilot with NO responsibility". Most aircraft pilots tasks go with equal responsibility.
