New plans for Lawnswood Roundabout have been released and are marginally better than the original disastrous proposals! Some of the trees will be kept but the look and feel of the area will be dramatically altered with at least 16 sets of traffic lights.

The plans are total overkill. Toucan crossings on all four approaches would ensure safe navigation of the roundabout by pedestrians and cyclists.

What would the implementation of these new plans results in?

Increased travel time through the junction 24/7
Creation of a holding area for traffic into Headingley
Increased congestion and pollution 24/7
Removal of trees and verges

At a cost of over £10 million
