The Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics  reported there were 1,295 road traffic deaths in 2016 – an increase of 7.5% compared to 2015  388 Australians tragically died 2017 due to drink-driving.

Almost 1200 people have been killed on Australian roads in the past 12 months( jan 2020). Deaths were recorded in every state and territory during 2019 with the number of lives lost totalling 1182. That's 47 deaths more than in 2018.

The government and Roads authorities have  campaigns, trying to reduce the death toll on our roads. Drink and drive is one of Australia's and the world greatest road killers.

As a responsible driver, when I am driving, I make sure I keep myself under the limit. When  I go to a pub or hotel, I ask first if the have non- alcoholic beer, 99% of the venues don't have any  for sale, WHY?? In a country that promotes " DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE" should be  compulsory to sell, non- alcoholic ( beer, wine and sparkling wine, as they  are already available on supermarket and liquor stores). Giving an option to our drivers and making our roads safer.

Be able to offer to the designated drivers is very important , also an option for bar staff to offer for members of the public,  regarding the RSA ( Responsible service of alcohol).
