Melissa Hill started this petition to Administrative Office of the Court Laurie K Dudgeon

We are told as citizens that we are given a fair trial. Civil court does not provide this option. If one parent has a high socio-economic class and can afford legal counsel where as the other parent is of a low socio-economic class they must serve as Pro Se counsel for themselves. We live in a new era where electronic and virtual filing and hearings are available. This is a valuable resource that is only available to people who can afford attorneys.  I am seeking the same opportunity to be given to all citizens regardless of their socio-economic status.

We have rights to be heard in the court before the judge. Civil matters are not upheld by the police department and therefore cannot be enforced. To aide in the effectiveness of filing cases that require a Judgment I have created this petition.

I have been denied my right to visit my child and COVID-19 has limited my access to filing a motion. My child was removed from the state during this global pandemic, the standing visitation order was not obeyed nor enforced. I contacted my local police department and was informed it was a civil matter to be handled in family court and required the judge to enforce. I went to the court house when they re-opened in June and I was denied entry. I filed my motion twice by mail and it was returned as the date I filed for (2 weeks out) the docket was full both times. I then filed a motion for emergency with the Judge. This was again returned and no court date was given. The other party hired counsel who was then able to e-file and was given at date for motion hour.

I know I cannot be alone in this. It is more important now than ever before to allow e-filing of cases to non-attorney representatives. Please join me in this action to raise awareness and aide in meaningful change in the ever changing world.
