LAUSD has made it seem like your child must attend in person learning for the new school year. The alternative option is not good enough. City Of Angels Online Academy is not well thought out. They are used to catering to children who are predominantly in Middle/High School that do not want to attend traditional school. We deserve a better option than one that has been thrown together at the last minute. Parents are supposed to make a decision by 08/06/20. However, nobody can you give you any information beyond referring you to their website. The website does not give any real information on the program other that the children will be on for 3 hours a day. Nobody from City Of Angels returns voicemail messages requesting information. I DO NOT feel comfortable sending my children who are ineligible to be vaccinated to a school where teachers/staff and students to do not have to be vaccinated. Schools were hot beds for viruses before the pandemic, but this infection could possibly result in long term health consequences or death. Those of us who feel this way should have a better option than the one given. I am not willing to play politics with my children’s lives.
