Michelle Blank started this petition to LAUSD Board

Teachers have been assigning too much homework to students in their classes and do not care about the mental health of their students, especially during an outbreak. Most students are not as adjusted to the online classes since most of them were used to a routine during school, and they lack to create a routine. Most students are bombarded with work upon work in all of their classes, while teachers do not care to communicate with one another about a certain amount to give them. Teachers do not understand the self-care, especially mental health, is essential to a good education and learning. Students are drowning in work, and it seems to be getting harder to stay afloat. If teachers do not cut back the workload, most students will lose all their courage to proceed or even think about getting a higher education. This also has been affecting me in ways. I have had countless of breakdowns due to the workload given to me, and it has been very stressful to the point where I want to give up and drop out of school. Countless of friends, have also told me their personal experiences, and seem to be dealing with the same thing. Countless of restless nights dealing with  mental breakdowns, trying to cope with how much work has been forced upon us.
