Wind turbines in this location will seriously threaten the ecosystem of the preserve. This project will effect the wildlife that we worked so hard to protect. Laurel Lake is the home to many rare species of birds and has been a sanctuary to the natural habitants of the North Fork. Many residents use this preserve on a daily basis and has become a staple in the North Fork Community. The location for this turbine, the dunes @ Laurel Lake Preserve, provide a plant and wildlife habitat and are worthy of protecting. Stealing from the environment to conserve the environment is counterproductive nothing is being saved with this venture (from the SCWA) not money, the environment or our wildlife.
