In January of 2019, Albert Wilson, a black 23-year old University of Kansas student, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, after being accused of raping a white woman. Wilson met the woman at a local college bar in September 2016. She accused him of raping her in his dorm room. However, after a rape kit was performed, there was no DNA evidence to verify that he was guilty of the accused crime. There is a hidden racial bias which exists in the criminal justice system that is surfacing and exposing the unfair treatments and verdicts against minorities. It is our duty as American citizens to fight for the justice of all individuals. Sign this petition if you stand for equal justice in our country!
