As a primary school teacher with a son with Aspergers and ADHD and as a mother with both conditions I have become keenly aware of how outdated the knowledge of Headteachers, Senior Management, Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Governors and Lunch-time Supervisors is in regard to Neurodiversity.  Neurodiversity includes Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Pathological Demand Avoidance), ADHD (particularly inattentive type), Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.  In particular, females and high-functioning pupils are under-recognised and under-supported.  This is causing significant anxiety and arguably leading to a home-schooling epidemic with inadequate support to home-schooling families.
