Bells will ring out 11/11/2018 to mark the end of World War 1, 100 years on.

Anyone  living over the age of 100 would have survived two world wars to ensure we had our freedom. Common grace and manners to treat these amazing people with dignity and respect, should be unquestionably. Sadly, instead of treating our elders with the appreciation and respect they deserve, we “ our local council “ are taking their last financial savings to pay for their care .

Surely they deserve this and shouldn’t it be given for free? Did they not give us our country at a huge sacrifice to their own wellbeing & hardship?

Care home fees will vary depending on the area that you live in, the individual care home itself, plus your own personal financial circumstances. Costs average around £600 a week for a care home place and over £800 a week for a place in a nursing home

Local councils calculate the cost of care and how much you have to contribute from your resources. This figure must be realistic and allow you to access an appropriate local care home.

If all your eligible income is taken into account in your means-test, you must be left with an income of £24.90 per week. This is known as your Personal Expenses Allowance.

Your capital                  What you will have to pay
Over £23,250                You must pay full fees (known as being self-funding).
£14,250 - £23,250        Local  council will fund some of your care and you'll top up
Less than £14,250        won't be included in the means test – local council will pay

The average cost of a funeral in the UK is £4,798

Please sign this petition to allow all over 100 year olds free nursing & residential care, let’s give back so they don’t have to worry about money in the last remaining years.
