Regardless of how you feel about the place, or purpose of Confederate monuments, I can say without a doubt that Delmar Williams is a living treasure and icon for not just Florence, but for the entire Shoals area.

Delmar does nothing but bring smiles and joy to the people that he's around and I believe that replacing that statue with one of Mr. Williams would not only bring positive publicity to the city, but for the entire state of Alabama.
