Kentrell Marrow started this petition to Latoya Cantrell Mayor Of New Orleans and
Werner Playground is a neighborhood playground located in the largest yet most undeveloped area of New Orleas known as The East. The East is the home of a playground that children can't play on because it is simply a slab of concrete and grass. Directly in the middle of a urban neighborhood that was once consider a middle class community. Werner Playground was left abandoned due to Hurricane Katrina almost 14 years ago. Children have grown up in these 14 years playing on rusty equipment and broken basketball goals that are no longer there. New Orleans recreational Department has stated that Werner Playground is not their responsibility simply because it was a gift to the neighborhood. They don't feel obligated to rebuild because it's not a official N.O.R.D Playground but it once bared their name and logo. This playground is two blocks away from a elementary school. Children usually avoid going to the playground because it's nothing but concrete, grass, and metal fences. Please help us to hold the city of New Orleans accountable for rebuilding and providing a play area for kids on a empty slab of concrete that was once a thriving play area for children.

This problem can be solve by using tax payers dollars and donations to rebuild Werner Playground.
