Latinos: Raise Your Voices for Our Families' Health and the Environment
We are a community that wants to make a difference. We want to leave this Earth and our community cleaner and healthier than how we found it. There are a lot of powerful interests that we’re going up against, including the fossil fuel industry. But we have the heart, the power, and the determination to fight for our families’ health and our environment.
Our community has been organizing for years: from Cesar Chavez’ historic organizing of farm workers’ rights starting in the 1960s to voter registration drives of the past several decades and the comprehensive immigration reform organizing of recent years. Latino communities from Chicago to Los Angeles, New York to Denver, and elsewhere have been standing up for a clean and safe environment for their families for years.
Here at League of Conservation Voters and LCV Education Fund, we’ve been inspired by the great environmental organizing that Latinos are doing around the country to protect community health and the environment. We are building on this tradition and stepping up our commitment to ensuring that Latino communities’ voices and leadership in the environmental movement are stronger than ever. Will you join us?
Let’s come together as a national community and work for a healthy climate for future generations. ¡Luchamos juntos por la protección de Nuestro Planeta, Nuestra Herencia!
