Climate change is causing intensifying hurricanes, extreme droughts, mass flooding, and rising sea levels being reported. The damage done is irreversible so our mission is to prevent it from becoming worse. Fossil fuels are one of the prominent accelerators of the climate change crisis. The government is trying to combat this by rolling out incentives for the installation of renewable energy. Investing in solar panels is a cost-efficient move that will work in favor of countering climate change. This being the case, it is most likely that converting to renewable energy will become a common practice in the future, even at institutions such as Lasell University. But we cannot wait for something as vague as the future. Climate change is a time-sensitive issue, and the longer we wait, the worse it becomes. Be the initiative that gets Lasell onto the path of renewable energy. Because solar will happen, but we have to start now.

Our petition is to convince Lasell to find a contractor and apply for federal funding and building permits. Solar panels will help reduce Lasell's carbon footprint and help climate change.
