PGCPS TO STAY VIRTUAL AMID 34% POSITIVITY RATE. LETS PROTECT OUR CHILDREN!
Amid the rise in Covid positivity rates impacting our homes, hospitals, workforce, etc, it is imperative that we protect our children by keeping our children safe at home.
“It is really shocking because the county went from having one of the lowest transmission rates in the state to now having a 34% positivity rate with this omicron,” County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said.
A father from Howard County is pleading for school leaders to bring back virtual learning because his daughter ended up in the emergency room due to severe case of COVID-19. An important take away from this parent; “They told me I could not go in the back with my daughter, at the hospital, but, my kids can go to school with kids with COVID and it’s okay” Adams stated.
Our children are our future, lets protect them by keeping them home until the positivity rate returns to 5% or below.
In addition, our teachers are a strained. The schools are understaffed and classrooms are over populated. There is no social distancing in classrooms of 25 plus students. A mask alone will not protect our children or school staff members from this deadly virus.
Please sign the petition to advocate for our children staying virtual until positivity rates are lower then the recommended 5%. Our children are vulnerable even when vaccinated this virus has shown its virulence.
Let’s change together.
