My mother was a leader in a male dominant profession and struggled with the same challenges I know my women colleagues still encounter today, now decades later. I have seen first hand the limitations of traditional power structures. I have also witnessed the exceptional results that are possible in a team oriented, inclusive work environment. Our society, and our discipline as landscape architects, is overdue for that shift to finally occur. The future awaits.
