Off-leash dog run in Fenway neighborhood

Off-leash dog run in Fenway neighborhood
The Fenway/Boston neighborhood has seen exponential growth in residential developments and with it a substantial increase in dog owners. Unfortunately there are no nearby options to allow dogs to exercise and socialize in a safe (gated) and off-leash manner. The Landmark Center renovation appears to include plans for a community green space. This would be an ideal spot for a dog run! We have been in contact with their planning team and they have expressed some openness to the idea. Hopefully we can generate a list of signatures to show them how much interest there is from the community.
Some of our further points:
- The nearest gated dog runs are in Brookline and South End. A dog run in Fenway would capture a wide base of users.
- Dog runs tend to have a strong base of regular users that contribute to maintaining and managing the dog runs once the facility is built.
- There are many nearby options for public green spaces. A dog run would add a unique element to the Landmark Center development, not just for attracting dog owners but for visitors, children, etc. who enjoy watching the dogs play, similarly enhancing value to nearby businesses.
