Calling for Urgent Action to Revise the TNVS Guidelines

To our Dear TNVS Passenger:
Ride-hailing services such as GrabCar has become as much a part of your daily lives as it is ours.
For us drivers, it helps us earn a little more to feed our families, put our kids to school and have a small business of our own.
But for many TNVS drivers, we are deemed colorum by the LTFRB because not all of us have the Provisional Authority (PA) or the CPC (Franchise) to operate as a Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) which is given by the LTFRB.
These are the issues which they have to clear:
1. 45,000 units TNVS Cap
2. Toyota Financing Scheme
3. Hatchbacks Disqualification
But this is not our fault. After undergoing stringent screening, training, and drug tests, we received our accreditation from our TNC, in this case, Grab Philippines. This is a requirement to be able to apply for TNVS PA with the LTFRB.
But while we all received our TNC accreditation, our applications for PA with the LTFRB were either not acted upon, or did not make it to the July 21, 2016 cut-off when they suspended all new applications.
LTFRB/DOTr has announced the lifting of PUV moratorium, they have left the status of TNVS hanging. Even though many in our ranks do not yet have a PA, it is hard to consider us as fly-by-night colorum drivers. Remember we underwent screening, training NBI clearance and drug tests. Grab has even provided insurance for you, our passengers, even if the vehicle does not yet have a PA. This ensures that you are protected whenever you ride with us.
The demand for ride hailing services continues to grow. Being technology-based, you are assured that whenever you choose to ride with us:
Your ride is tracked, from origin to destination.
You are insured.
Your driver has been trained better than any other PUV driver out there. We are not all perfect, but we try hard to outserve you all.
Your fare is based on supply and demand, which is to your benefit as well us for us, your driver.
So, this is where we are today. And we need your voice, your support as our passengers, the people we work hard to serve.
We cannot imagine a Philippines without ride-hailing services, can you? If you feel the same way and want to express your support in our drive to convince the LTFRB to remove the cap and work with our TNC; If you feel that as commuters you can be better served if TNCs and TNVS drivers are given the opportunity to complete their applications, to improve their service and set things straight, then please sign this petition.
We will present this petition to the DOTr / LTFRB and hopefully even our President Digong.
Thank you for lending your name in support of this cause. Let’s continue to support our government and all the good things it does.
Maraming salamat po!
