A dog park is a public park, typically fenced, where people and their dogs
can play together. Dog parks have been established all over the country and offer a wealth of benefits to dogs, dog owners and the community as a whole. We are looking to improve the landscape of our neighborhood dog park.
Recommendation: creating a drinking water system for humans and dogs (non winter season) and night time lighting (winter season).
Mundy Pond is not only home to a dog park but the area is used by bicycles, scooters, skateboards, runners, walkers, softball, soccer, ultimate freebie. Thus there is an increased need for a water station and additionally it removes unwanted plastic bottles from our environment.
Night time lighting, as we all know our sunsets come early this time of year and many of us wake up in the dark and go home in the dark. It would be beneficial to have lighting in the dog park so it can be utilized and increase public safety. See the link for the sunrise and sunset hours for St. John's. https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/canada/st-johns?month=11&year=2017
Final suggestion: Water stations during non-winter season and night time lighting on a timer (4pm to 9pm)
