Lancashire 2025 has spent three years perfecting the bid for Lancashire to become City of Culture 2025. The team has involved officers of the county and district authorities, politicians, leaders from business, the cultural sector and our Universities.

The bid is ready to be sent to the government but has been stopped by the new political administration at Lancashire county council at the last minute with no reasonable explanation.

We believe that this bid will be transformational for the people of Lancashire and  will unlock great economic rewards and increase wellbeing as we recover from the damage from Covid 19. It will promote the county nationally and internationally creating increases in inward investment and tourism.It will provide jobs and opportunities for many people as proven by previous winners for this prestigious title.

I am proud of Lancashire and I know that we have the capability and ambition to make our county even greater.
