Safer Streets For Lancashire's Children
Safer Streets For Lancashire's Children

Lancashire's children deserve to walk to school and play in safety. Many parents are having to make the difficult decision to drive their children to school due to the lack of safe footpaths, crossings and speed limits which consider the safety of children first. Our children desperately need safer roads in Lancashire with Vision Zero ( the aim of zero casualties on our roads) at the core of highways planning. They also need safe places to play where they are free to roam and be children.
Our children need to be able to walk to their schools on safe footpaths alongside roads with a safe speed limit, suitable crossings and safe footpaths. They need safe places to play locally where they are not in danger from pollution from cars and traffic.
We ask that Lancashire conduct an urgent review of the roads around schools, parks and homes and implement Vision Zero strategies to ensure that no child is denied the opportunity to walk to school and play safely.
