Re-consult on the Tulse Hill Controlled Parking Zone
This petition had 156 supporters
The blanket 8:30am - 6:30pm controlled parking zone makes it difficult for Thurlow Park residents to have visitors, see tradespeople, take deliveries or go shopping. This not only makes it harder for families but is damaging to business too. Because it's so restrictive it is also displacing cars into those areas that don't have the CPZ, meaning residents can't even park outside their own homes.
We're calling on Lambeth Council to honour its promise to reconsult on the CPZ and look into a 2 hour option. A 2 hour lunchtime CPZ would deter commuters, but not have the same damaging impact on homes and local shops. The Council claim they have no money to reconsult but an FOI request has revealed that the CPZ has so far raised over £100,000, more than enough money to allow them to look again at how and where controlled parking operates.
