The new rule that has been implemented at the school no longer allows parents to pick their children up at the door and instead have to wait in the car line. The rule does not fit the needs of all parents involved as many have kids in more than one school and have to go to work. The waiting in a car line not only makes it way longer to pick your children up but more difficult as many of us can't get there early as we pick up other children and have to sit out in the road before we can even get in the parking lot. The new rule has many parents furious as they can get in and pick their child up at the door and be gone most of the time before the car line has even moved one vehicle. Another issue will be parents who have their children leave a few minutes early to avoid this ridiculous fiscal will have children marked as tardy if they do. Even at the expense of their job. Then also the issue of Parents that walk to pick their children up where do they stand in the car line? The use of the new rule will cause more issues going forward with winter approaching as well as parents speeding in the parking lot to not get stuck in the traffic jam. The potential incidents that could happen far out way the old process the school has used longer than ten years. A change in this nature should be brought up with parents as it is what is best for the whole and not just a few. The overall safety of children, parents, and teachers as any changes in this nature without looking at repercussions is just foolish. Road rage is real and so is speeding and this is the situation we will be putting our children in daily and it is a ticking time bomb just waiting for something to happen. I think the new rule needs to be looked at closer and the potential downfalls it can be creating with parents and the overall safety of the children from incidents that could have been prevented.
