My name is Mariah. I live at 2105 Hebron. My landlord is trying to evict several families from his buildings. He changes the rules and the money every month. He makes verbal arrangements just to change it the day in questions. To charge more money. He is abusing his power and using the justice system to do so. It is not fair for the families trying to adjust to his forever changing rules. Here is a little of the situation. 

I took over my sister's lease. He was to transfer her whole security deposit of $1700, and all I was to pay was the $100 difference as he raised the rent to $900 from $850. So deposit is now 2× the rent = $1800. And the first month rent of $900 totaling $1000. This was done on time Sep 1 2021 as the lease states. He later changed his mind and request I pay $950 on the deposit. I agree and give him dates to when it all will be paid. Come the 29th of Oct. He text and change the whole money amount. Now he has took my Oct. rent and applied it to my security deposit and I owe Oct rent and Nov. Totaling $1950. The $1850 that was due was to be paid on the 29th the same day at 806 am when he text his demands. 

I agreed to pay the $950 security deposit and my $900 Nov. rent on Oct. 29th the same day he text me changing the arrangement. I follow the lease that he has not signed but has taken my money. I do not know what to do in this matter. I can not afford for him to keep changing the amount or for him to not follow his own rules or stick to what we agreed upon. This is not fair or just. I am a single mother of 6. I work as a CNA and I go to school. I do not receive section8 and I do not get any child support. I receive $843 in snap a month, $450 in car note a month. My frig has went out two times and the last time took over a week to get new one. I was out $500 in food over the two times it failed. He is also trying to charge me for that. But did not replace the food or money that was lost. He said it was snap so he did not have to pay me or it was not real money. My car was towed from the parking lot he is refusing to give me my parking permit. Which resulted in me paying $250 I did not have. He also states this is not his problem. But it is no wer on the lease that states i have to pay $40 for the pemit. 

In this matter I have the $1850 and do not know what to do. Right is right. I believe we all know better at this point in the world. 

So if you have experienced this, or if you are currently going thru the same thing. Please sign this petition. Please right the wrongs. I understand that some people have abused the eviction moratorium. This is not the case. He has just bought the two buildings this summer of 2021. I have just moved in in August. I took over the lease in September 2021. It is now November 6 2021. Justice is needed. He can not push over the hard working people of today and get away with it. So please help right the wrong, and sign. Thank you.
